Christmas Gifts
|
| Well, Christmas has come and gone, and I would like to take a moment here to share with you some of the things that I have received for the holiday. I received a number of wonderful gifts, but I will only include the one's that have humorous meaning here. Granted, I could probably find some form of humor in my new matching salt and pepper shakers, but it would be a stretch, so I won't over analyze EVERY gift I received.

I just wanted to take a moment to
forewarn everyone about another disturbance coming through the east coast.
Many of us were affected by the hurricane Isabell some time back, and there
is something equally, if not worse, coming through the area...tropical
storm, Poulan. Apparently Poulan is taking out any trees and power
lines that come in it's way, and running aimlessly through it's neighborhood
with reckless endangerment. It is strongly advised to stock up on
nonperishable foods, and keep children and small animals indoors until
Poulan passes through and safety is again restored.
I think the world was a safer place before my brother bought me a chainsaw for Christmas. I am going to have so much fun with my Poulan chainsaw, but until I start using it, I am simply using it as a subtle paperweight for my list of 'house rules'.

This is an innocent looking gift that my sister
gave to me. It's a cute little reindeer to help decorate my house for
Christmas years to come. Now, not only is this reindeer fun to look at, it is also practical. It doubles as a food dispenser. When you push down on the reindeer's little rump, he 'dispenses' little brown jelly beans. In the directions, it recommends storing the reindeer 'out of direct sunlight', so I was more than happy to oblige by offering to 'stick it where the sun don't shine'.

Another great gift that I am going to highly
enjoy is one that my mom gave to me. It's a mattress pad and two
pillows made out of 'Swedish foam' (also commonly known as 'memory foam').
It says it uses "visco-elastic open-celled foam" which I am convinced that
is Swedish for 'hibernate'. It is unbelievably comfortable. Most people have seen that picture, on the left there, of the hand pushing down on the foam, but mine is going to look a little different. Between the bed, the pillows, and my t-shirt sheets and blanket, my bed is going to look more like this.....
